The castle town located in the center of Takayama-city has been prserved since the Edo period, and is referred to as “Little Kyoto in Hida” form its scenery. It has been as introduced in tour guides as a “City with indelible scenery of Japan” and is attracting many tourists from all over the world every year. It was ranked three stars in the tour guide book “Michelin Voyage Pratique Japon” by Michelin in France as a must-see toursist resort.
