They have had many visitors including international students, working adults, and travelers visiting Japan, and is particularly popular among Muslims from Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore. Manekineko has been listening to voices of customers and operating its business according to needs such as changing menus and holding events.
The menu has been revised numerous times after many trial and error to respond to the needs of customers wanting to eat good-tasting HALAL food. Currently, all foods served are HALAL-friendly, with 22 items on the menu, including standard menus such asfried potato, karaage, ramen, hamburg steak, as well as Italian menus such as pizza.
Popular among these are menus made from food ingredients delivered from restaurants serving HALAL menus.
Such menus include “hand-made karaage 734 yen and gyoza 626 yen” from Nikkoken (Sano-city, Tochigi Prefecture), “6 items including hamburg steak 1,382 yen and hand-made cheese cake (626 yen), etc.” from Pran Pone (Nerima-ku, Tokyo-to), allowing customers to enjoy meals while singing karaoke.
Recently, they are holding events 1 to 2 times a month for everyone to enjoy together regardless of nationality or religion as a place of “interaction between Muslim and Japanese people,” attracting 10 to 15 participants each time. Additionally, they provide a prayer room inside the store, and use different cooking utensils and seasonings for HALAL menus, taking into account the circumstances of Muslim customers.
