SAFARI AYAM YA MALAYSIA SDN.BHD (representative director: Yoshiko Tsuchiya) opened Japanese HALAL ramen shop “Ayam-YA” in Kuala Lumpur International Airport on December 16th, 2015 (Weds), making it the first Japanese HALAL ramen shop to be open in overseas countries.
“Kyoto tori soba Ayam-Ya” acquired HALAL certificate on June 2015 and since then has been serving full-fledged HALAL ramen with thick white chicken soup to Islamic students from abroad and tourists visiting Kyoto.

Opening the store in Malaysia was realized from wishes of wanting “Islamic people that never had a chance of tasting ramen to know it as one of the wonderful cultures of Japan” and “making it a place to transmit Japanese culture to the world.” At the restaurant, customers can enjoy traditional Japanese dishes such as teriyaki chicken, kara-age, chicken cutlet, etc. in addition to ramen.
Generally, in food courts with limited space, most dishes served are pre-cooked; however, at Ayam-Ya, the ramen soup is made from scratch at the restaurant. Large amount of chicken bones are cooked over a long period of time to make opaque pale broth full of chicken flavor. The completed soup has such complex flavor that it is almost impossible to believe that it is made using only chicken.
Menus including kara-age, teriyaki chicken, and chicken cutlet are all hand-made. There are no ready-made items. Also, spicy ramen is available to suit the taste of people in Malaysia and Southeast Asia, but the basic flavors are the same as those used in the ramen shop in Japan. Customers can enjoy the genuine taste of Japan in convenience.
Please take a visit when you are at Kuala Lumpur International Airport KLIA2.
