Neox Corporation, a sponsor of the Japan Halal Expo 2014, gifted Halal souvenirs to Muslims in the Tokushima region. These souvenirs included beni imo (purple sweet potato) tart made in Okinawa and sold by Neox, as well as Halal certified products of various countries purchased by the president of Neox on a business trip to Singapore.

40 Muslims from 7 countries – Pakistan, Malaysia, Indonesia, Egypt, Singapore, Uighur, and Japan – gathered at the Tokushima Masjid on this day, with Muslims from each country having their own favorite tastes. There were Muslims from countries in which spicy foods making use of spices are popular, as well as Muslims who hated spicy foods.

The common desire of these Muslims was for more Japanese Halal foods, particularly more Halal ramen and beef. The provision of Halal options in university cafeterias is also urgently needed in Tokushima, home to many university students.

In the meantime, when the president of a local food company participating in this gathering told participants to “look forward to our development of Halal foods ahead of the Japan Halal Expo”, the participants begged for the company to “acquire Halal certification ASAP!” Come and try this product at the Expo.
