Tokyo University of Foreign Studies (TUFS) is regard as one of the national universities specific to foreign studies and about 3 thousands students study in 28 languages department.

TUFS starts to provide the meals that use halal foods at cafeteria inside campus from on July 17th.
TUFS is in summer semester now, but you will eat them because the cafeteria is opened around noon from Monday to Friday except August 8th~16th.
There are 11 kinds in the halal menu, for example, Beef Rice (Gyu-don),Yellow Chicken Curry, Chicken Tatsuta Rice and more.
As you can know from these menus,
they are involved Japanese famous meal like Gyu-don and so variety. These menus are provided 2 kinds each day and sold about 400~500 yen.
They are not “halal” in the strict sense. However, the cafeteria provides halal menu as possible as it can because these halal menus get agreement from Muslim foreign students in TUFS thorough several meetings and a food tasting.

Furthermore at the almost same time, simple masjid is set in the main building of TUFS for Muslim students. Like these two events, you can understand TUFS try to provide kind environments to live for the people Muslim and close them.
The more universities will perform like this, the more Muslim students in the world will be able to study easily in Japan.
