Q what is attractive about clothes or dresses you buy in Japan
A I actually prefer something patterned like flowery but here most of it are plain and vibrant color, so I feel comfortable wearing it because I can match it with my headscarf I brought from Brunei.
Q how do you enjoy your fashion according to the seasons or events?
A As a muslim, we need to cover our “aurat” ( some body parts that needs closure in Islam), so I find it more comfortable to wear more in terms of thickness of the cloth in autumn and winter. And still as a muslim, it is not a harm to dress fashionably as long as they cover the parts that we should.

A Headscarf from Brunei goes well with striped long sleeves from Japan, which looks pretty.

Q what is attractive about clothes or dresses you buy in Japan?
A Clothes in Japan is all simple, and so good because they do not have many images of people (in Islam, you cannot idolize anything). most of the material is so thin that it works in both summer and winter.
Q how do you enjoy your fashion according to the seasons or events?
A Although it is easy in the winter since they have long shirts and pants that covers most of our body, it’s not the same in the summer when most of the outfits are revealing and short. I find that difficult yet when covering most of my body may keep me sweating most of the time in the summer.
Q today’s fashion
A What I’m wearing in the picture is very simple. A long shirt that covers my hips, jeans, a scarf to cover my chest and sweater to cover my arms. I usually wear outfits like these.

Q what is attractive about clothes or dresses you buy in Japan?
A I like the design of Japanese clothing because it’s very simple and we can mix and match any colors or put any accessories without feeling afraid of standing out too much. The price is quite expensive depends on the brand, but the secondhand clothing sure is very cheap.
Q how do you enjoy your fashion according to the seasons or events?
A I do enjoy experimenting with mix matching clothes, especially for spring and autumn because the weather is good to wear multiple layers.
Q today’s fashion (a brief explanation for your today’s fashion)
A My theme today is black and white and something in between since I do not like colorful cloth except for pink and red. This hijab is brought from Indonesia.
Japan and Muslim Fashion
In Japan, we often see exposing fashions or Western styles around the city. However, for Muslimahs, revealing some parts of their skin is likey to be avoided based on Islam.
As we saw, Muslimahs in Japan are actually enjoying their fashion by incorporating Japanese culture and weather into their own muslim fashion. And, some muslimahs love to experience wearing Yukata or Kimono.
It seems they are expressing their beauty with respect for each culture, Muslim fashion and Japanese culture.
