A field trip to Tokyo Camii was hosted by Japanese Jr. High School in March, 2015. The students received lecture from the teacher at mosque pertaining to the proper understanding of Islamic religion and Muslim culture. The field trip was conducted by Tachiya Adachi-ku, Jr. High School as a part of their curriculum in strengthening the awareness of students toward people of different cultural background.
*All of the female participants (including students) wore hijab.
Some students commented by saying “It was very different from the image being portrayed by the media”. The field trip did not just end at visiting Tokyo Camii, as the students later on split into small groups and went on to go visit 25 embassies of various countries. It is our prayer that this kind of field trip will further be incorporated in the Japanese educational system.
