Marinfood Co Ltd – Series of companies exhibiting in MIHAS-

The world’s greatest HALAL Exhibition, MIHAS (Malaysia International Halal Showcase) is taking place this year for four days from March 30th to April 2nd in Kuala Lumpur. This exhibition attracts attention from all over the world each year. HMJ will be introducing companies participating in the exhibition in series. The first company is Marinfood Co Ltd.

①Please tell us the characteristic of your company and products (what you want to promote).
Marinfood Co Ltd is a food company based in Osaka. We manufacture products such as butter, margarine, cheese, and hot cakes. Our company has the highest share in Japan for characteristic products such as mass marketing of garlic spread and butter packs you find in hotel breakfasts, many among which are products unique to our company. We would like to introduce two of our products. The first is candy cheese, which is mainly exported to overseas countries. This product is also very popular in Japan as well as Taiwan and Thai due to its high nutritional value and good taste. The second product is smoked butter. Marinfood was the first company in the world to have success in the industrial manufacturing of this product. Butter smoked with apple tree chip is a high-quality, luxurious butter with rich, flavorful taste and deep fragrance.

①Please tell us the reason you decided to acquire HALAL certificate.
We acquired HALAL certificate in order to correspond to the Muslim food market, which is expected to g continuously grow in the future, particularly trade areas in South East Asia and the Middle East. Concerns to HALAL food is gradually increasing in Japan as well. Marinfood will be selling cheese and butter that may be eaten without worry by Muslims living in Japan and Muslims visiting Japan.

②Please tell us if there are any recommendations for serving the products.
Candy cheese is a good source of calcium and protein, so it is perfect as a snack for children.
We also recommend having it as an appetizer for a party, served on top of a cracker along with tomatoes.
The standard way of eating the smoked butter is to place it on lightly toasted baguette. In order to enjoy the fragrance of smoked butter, it is important to place the butter after toasting. We also recommend placing the butter on steak and pasta.

③Please tell us your expectations at MIHAS exhibition.
We would like many people to taste and acknowledge our candy cheese and smoked butter, and would like to actively connect with distributing agents that handle dairy products.

④Where can we buy the products?
We just acquired the HALAL certificate, so the products are still not available in the market. We plan on starting sales in Japan as well as overseas countries including Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, and the Middle East.
