The scene around Shin-Okubo through Okubo station is enlived by foreigners. Beside this place known as Korean-town in Tokyo, several Muslim communities also can be found in this area, like from Indonesia, Malaysia, Bangladesh, Pakistan, etc. Apart that some Muslim halal stores and Supermarket (Gyomu) which sell halal product stand in this area, a mushola, named shin-Okubo mushola, is also located here. Both Muslim store and mushola invite workers, students, and tourist Muslim to come here, especially during praying jumu’ah.
Bintang-Bali is a new café just for several weeks. Located in front of Okubo station and around Muslim communities, this café provide Indonesian dishes and off course halal like: curry, fried rice, nasi ayam, and mie tomyan. It is suitable for Indonesian who miss for Indonesian food or foreigners who want to taste it. After praying jumu’ah, I visited to this café just for 5 minutes’ walk from mushola Shin-Okubo.
