Fukui WORLDON CUP 2015 by SAMURAI KITCHEN

The “Hokubee Halal Sirloin Steak of Beef DON” of SAMURAI KITCHEN won the gold prize (variety division) at the first nationwide don grand prix. This time, they decided to set up a booth at WORLDON CUP 2015 held in front of Fukui station between March 14 and 15, 2015. For this event, they created the longest line of people and sold 800 “dons” in 2 days.

Although most of the customers were Japanese, HALAL BEEF was one of the most popular food among them with receiving of comments like “it’s so delicious!” and “where can I eat it?” The halal injection beef of Singapore is being used as the beef for this don. For the sauce, they are using the strong spicy tasting “SAMURAI BLACK SAUCE” that contains a lot of super coarsely ground black pepper! (The base ingredients for this sauce are onion/garlic/soy sauce/etc.) Of course, they made sure that the base ingredients being used for the sauce such as soy sauce, etc. are all halal certified. So you can eat it with without having to worry about “Shubha” since they strictly stayed away from using any kind of processed ingredients with unknown source.

This DON is currently available at restaurant “SEKAI CAFÉ” located in Asakusa. (JPY1,800)

SEKAI CAFE: A café suitable for everyone
At SAMURAI Kitchen feat.SEKAI CAFÉ, we received the following comment.

“Not only is it just acceptable for Japanese to eat halal food, I actually think it’s beneficial for Japanese to eat halal food from the health perspective. I look forward to the day where both Muslims and Japanese are sharing a meal together at a single table saying “wow, this is such a delicious meal!” I pray that such day will come soon where this kind of environment can be seen at many places in Japan. We understand that we are not Muslims, but we are still the same human beings, and I feel little lonely not to be able to share a meal with them just because of dietary reasons. I think we can all agree that food taste much better when we share a meal together with everyone! The reason why we are so active about placing our booth at these kinds of events is because we want Japanese to have more understanding/interest toward the Muslims by looking beyond religious/race differences. We think Muslims and Japanese have similar ways of thinking. After all, we are all brothers and sisters in the context of mankind.”
