Mostly Moslems don’t really care about the ingredients when it comes to eating ice cream. Actually, normal ice cream could contains emulsifier derived from animal fat which is definitely not halal, and the cone is also doubtful to be consumable by moslems.
So, Nakahora Farm initiated the idea of making halal ice cream for Moslems. It has the Ice cream stalls in Ikebukuro as well as in Ginza. Last time I visited their stall in Tobu Dept Store Ikebukuro. It was quite hard to find the stall but finally we got it. All you have to do is find Tobu Dept. Store in Ikebukuro station, then find Lot 9, it is placed exactly right in front of the escalator at B2F.
As Nakahora Farm preserves the halal-ness of their products for Moslems, it only offers the ice cream in cup as it hasn’t certify the cone to be halal yet. For the flavor, we can choose either vanilla, matcha, or vanilla-matcha mix flavor. My friends and I had the matcha flavor. And because Nakahora use natural ingredients for their product, you can see that the green color doesn’t look so bright but rather brownish. It is a good sign that their matcha is really natural without any coloring agent. The ice cream was so soft with perfect sweetness that melts in your mouth. You definitely have to try this!
