Abe Shinzo Prime Minister of Japan hosted Iftar on 9th, June.
On 9th in June, Prime Minister Abe Shinzo organized Iftar, that is the evening meals after sunset during Ramadan.
Ambassadors from 38 countries/regions of Islamic countries currently working in Japan took part in this Iftar.
At this Iftar, local cuisines of each country are served to the participants.
Mr. Abe gave a speech in this occasion that says we need to cherish what spirit of Islam and Japanese spirit have in common such as mercy, respect to others, and sincerity, and hope this Iftar would be an opportunity to deepen the mutual relationship onwards.
Iftar organized by Prime Minister or Minister of Foreign Affairs has been lasted every year since 2005 on the purpose of encouraging mutual understanding between Japan and Islam.
