Makuhari, a town surrounded by an international exhibition center, conference center, and shopping mall that welcomes many tourists visiting Japan and is indeed representative of Japan, was selected as the homestay destination for visiting Malaysian students.

The Malaysian high school students came to Chiba prefecture on their school trip on September 17 and 18. Meanwhile, the homestay destination underwent training in Halal in preparation for the arrival of the Malaysian students.

The following precautions were given to the homestay destination:

※As a rule, the students visiting from Malaysia will be Muslim. When hosting these students, please prepare meals that do not include “alcohol and pork”, including in the seasoning, as well as a space in which they can pray during prayer times (it doesn’t have to be a wide space, anywhere they can kneel on the floor and pray is acceptable, even a living room, etc.)

※ Islam prohibits men and women from sharing the same bedroom (for example, the host father or brother cannot share a room with a female student).
